Indications according to traditional Chinese medicine: Du Huo Ji Sheng Tang dispels wind dampness, stops pain, supports the liver and kidneys and totonify qi and blood. It is indicated in cases of long-term obstruction syndrome by cold-damp-wind associated with double emptiness of the liver and kidneys and insufficiency of qi and blood, marked by pain and flaccidity of the lumbar vertebrae and knees, difficulty in flexing and extending joints, numbness, aversion to cold with a preference for warmth, palpitations, shortness of breath, pale tongue, white lingual coating, thin and weak pulse.
